Hiers to the Barony

Unto Their Solar Majesties Khalil and Emma, Their Royal Highnesses Craven and Elzbieta, the Kingdom Seneschal Viscountess Victoria, Their Lunar Excellencies Johan and Catyln, and to all the populace of the Barony of Twin Moons, we, Litli Knartr (a.k.a. Tiny of Twin Moons) and Eirný Þrúðardóttir, send the warmest of greetings.

We wish, at this time, to put forth our names as candidates for the next Baron and Baroness of the Barony of Twin Moons for a three-year term. We are seeking this position to continue supporting the community that has been near and dear to our hearts for many years. We want to recognize and further strengthen the community that has made us feel welcome, loved, and accepted for who we are. Our time, energy, and abilities would be well-suited to helping the Barony grow over three years in all aspects of the Society for Creative Anachronism.

We have been active in the SCA since 2015, starting right here in Twin Moons, and have called this great Barony our home ever since. We have always loved the feeling of found family the Barony maintains, and are happy to see more families and youth call it home as the years have gone by. We have spent a lot of our time in the Barony as officers, or in support positions to other sitting B&Bs. Litli has served as a Rapier Marshal, the Web Minister, the Keeper of the Regalia, and, most recently, has been supporting the entire Barony as the Seneschal. Eirný has served as a Head Lady-in-Waiting, a Social Media Officer, a Deputy Seneschal, a Seneschal, and, most recently, has been working hard to build the A&S community within Twin Moons as the A&S Minister. Between the two of us, we have helped set up and/or run many Baronial and Kingdom events, and several Tri-Baronial events.

Our extensive commitments to the Barony, either as officers or in support of sitting B&Bs, have given us a unique understanding of how the Barony is run and functions. We understand the time commitments and responsibilities of territorial nobility. We recognize how important clear and concise communication is not just with the Barony’s own officers, but also with the Kingdom’s officers, the Crown, and the other territorial nobility.

Our hope is to support all of the groups within the Barony of Twin Moons to the best of our abilities. Whether it be A&S, Heavy Combat, Rapier, Equestrian, Archery, or any other of our activities, we know they all will have different support needs, requests, and requirements. We are prepared to empower the populace to continue to show up and participate in all aspects of the SCA. And while we may have ideas for what might benefit each of the communities in the Barony, we would still seek counsel and advice from the populace, as well as Peers and leaders, on how best we can support the communities they participate in.

We want to see the Barony continue to thrive as an inclusive space where all are welcome, where families feel their kids are safe, and where anyone can learn what it means to be a part of something special. We also want to strengthen connections with the other Central Valley Baronies and with our neighbors to the north and south.
